In case you haven’t noticed (who am I kidding, you most definitely have not noticed, but you can’t blame a girl from dreaming can you?), my fearless writing companion, Beth, and I have been a little sluggish blog-wise, (life-wise too, but that’s another story). Beth is slaving away, answering phones in a cellar and I’ve been busy doing–what? What have I been doing? Wish I knew, however, whatever it is that has been keeping me busy has certainly not been my writing.

Oh, I remember what I’ve been up to the last few days: first the weather has been gorgeous, too gorgeous to stay inside and write, even with windows and doors wide open. We also had our annual first-week-of-Mardi-Gras-celebration with friends in Galveston. Mardi gras Galveston

In Galveston, we, for the most part, keep all of our clothes on and we still get beads. This past weekend, I became the proud owner of a particularly envious strand of enormous beads.

Okay, not that big, but come on, those are just too much. Have some discretion.

Next weekend, the party continues with a big parade and an outdoor party, with The Mambo Jazz Kings. Because I have got to get writing, I am ending this post, but I want to help you shake your Monday blues, so spend a few minutes enjoying the Kings.
